 March 2011’s Pet of the Month is Samson Hutchinson. Samson began daycare 3 days per week when he was only 3 months old. He is now a big boy at 9 months and a handsome Shepard he is. Samson arrives bright and early in the morning and ready to PLAY! From the beginning, he was the life of the party! Samson made a special friend, Ticaani, who is also a youngster. They spend their days chewing on sticks, de-stuffing toys, hide and go seek, playing king/queen of the snowbank and often taking naps together. Samson loves his daycare days and his Mama and Papa love the tired puppy in the evening. Sweet dreams Samson!

 February 2011’s Pet of the month is Abby Hall. Abby is a sweet natured 12+ year old Poodle who comes for daycare and occasional boarding. Abby was rescued from the shelter and has become the center of her owners world-quite a life for Ms. Abby! She was a shy lady when she first began her visits and would often wait for Marilyn to return. Because of her age, the pack respected Abby’s wishes and allowed her to join them when she was ready. Now, I am proud to say, Abby wags her tail to greet me and gladly socializes with the other dogs, often is found sleeping in her favorite spot, and is the official “Queen” at Paws and Claws! This is a great example of how time, patience, exposure and positive energy can enable your beloved pet to be happy and secure when you must leave them for a short or longer period of time.  January 2011 Pets of the Month are Penny and Lou Giguere. Penny is a 1 ½ year old mixed Terrier and Lou is a 2 ½ year old Pug. They come weekly for daycare and occasionally board. I often describe them as Ying and Yang. Penny has nervous energy, and lots of it!, and Lou keeps watch of her and has a way of calming her down by playing with her. Penny was a rescue from the shelter and Lou is the perfect housemate for her. They tear thru the door when they enter and the day begins! They love the freedom of running and socializing, with Lou always being the “hall-monitor” of the days dogs. Penny has learned to take her energy into a positive direction with the help of daycare and truly both Enjoy their visits! They always greet their beloved family with joy and excitement, as Penny and Lou are very loved! See you soon our Friends-

 December 2010’s Pets of the Month are Snowy and Tito Woodward. Snowy is a white 11 year old Mini-Schnauzer and her housemate Tito is a 7 year old Schnauzer/Chihuahua mix. Their family has been a faithful client since we first opened and use us for daycare occasionally and boarding as well. Snowy and Tito are somewhat privileged here at Paws and Claws-Tito sleeps on my husbands’ head for his overnights and Ms. Snowy chooses a dog bed either by the fireplace or near our bed in summer. They have both learned to love swim lessons, and beg to have a dip when its steamy, Tito will boss around anyone if he feels they need it and Snowy is laid back and socializes when she desires! Not only are Snowy and Tito special to us but their family is one of a KIND! We look forward to many more visits from the Woodward family-Lots of love our friends!

 November 2010’s Pet of the Month is Tikaani Brann. Tikaani is a pure breed, snow white 7 month old Husky. She began daycare at the ripe age of 11 weeks old. Her family has an active lifestyle and daycare daily has made such a difference in Takaani and the Branns’ life. Tikaani brings a positive vibe, sweetness and joy to all her dog friends-I would have to say she is one of the most “popular” dogs here! Any new member to the pack, she greets and insists on teaching them the rules of play. She is so very smart, picks up cues and commands easily and has no issues with sharing her toys/food. There is something to be said for daily daycare-wanting a dog in your life can make one feel guilty about the commitment is takes. Here at Paws and Claws, we are a no guilt zone. Simply said, we help make you the best dog parent to your beloved pet!

 October 2010’s Pet of the Month is Tara Watts. Tara is a 6 year old Beagle who her loving owner rescued from the shelter. Tara began daycare and boarding 6 months ago and has made herself quite comfortable here at Paws and Claws. Because of her age, the pack seems to treat her with great respect and also enjoys the type of play she has to offer. Tara has become a great addition to the Tuesday and Thursday “little dog gang” and gladly spends the night when her Mom travels. One of the best benefits is the exercise that has helped trim her waist and hips! We are hoping this will help alleviate problems in her senior years and give her the longest, best life possible. Here’s to you Ms. Ra-Ra-many happy visits await you at Paws and Claws.
